Step 4: Plan it Out: Whether you choose to use the online configurator or not, it’s a good idea to layout the products you plan to use and try different configurations before you fasten them down. Remember the old carpenters motto…measure twice, cut once…it applies here too. We wanted to haul both narrow stance vintage sleds and modern sleds, so we came up with a design that will let us do both.

Last season, we upgraded our fleet of trailers with fresh aluminum from our pals at Legend. The affordable Thunder series trailer was looking tight, but before Mac, Cereal K, and the rest of the OSM slugs could set-foot inside the new hauler, let alone tear it up with their less than mint collection of swap meet parts, we hooked up with the folks from Caliber, makers of snowmobile, ATV and marine accessories, and tricked out the deck. Specifically we purchased their top-of-the- line trailer Glides, Grips and Trax Mats and created a custom deck configuration that not only protects our new purchase, but makes loading and unloading a breeze. The crew from Caliber is known within snow circles for making the “good stuff”, in fact all of their products are backed by a lifetime warranty against defects and workmanship.  Here’s how you can do the same.
