Don’t write off veteran snocross racer Robbie Malinoski just yet… the tough as nails rider stamped out all the buzz surrounding the “new young guns” by winning both Pro-Open finals at the AMSOIL Championship Snocross event in Duluth, Minnesota. On Saturday night Robbie bested Ross Martin (Polaris) along with his teammate and last year’s year-end champion Tim Tremblay (Ski-Doo). A heavy snowfall, and a short track that favored holeshots was the scene, and early in the race Ross Martin held the lead, but snow ingestion slowed Martin, and Malinoski took over the lead with less than a lap to go.

In Sunday’s round two action, Malinoski bested his previous day’s performance by leading the race from flag to flag. To make things even better, his teammate Tim Tremblay and Darin Mees rounded out the podium, giving the AMSOIL/Ski-Doo team a clean sweep of the podium.
