Think the season is over? Think again; in the heart of snowmobile country, the hardcore enthusiasts are already gearing up to kick-off next winter with the Classic Sled Round Up in St. Germain, Wisconsin. Held on Sunday, May 27, and hosted by the Snowmobile Hall of Fame, the ever growing swap meet and judged show has become one of the must attend events of the year and marks the start of another season for many. Both the swap meet and judged sled display have grown immensely in recent years, with the swap now busting at the seams featuring more than 200 participants last year. What’s more, this is a swap filled with good stuff, not lawn mowers and old tires. The selection of sleds, parts, and collectibles for sale is rivaled by few. The same goes for the judged show, which continues to see the quantity and caliber of sleds on display increase year-over-year. Last year the 1973 Auto Ski Midget Deluxe owned by Carpenter (shown above) took home the People’s Choice award. Of course, spending time in this part of Wisconsin is always a treat, with beautiful scenery, great places to eat, and home to both the Snowmobile Hall of Fame museum in St. Germain and the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame in Eagle River.
